FamSynq ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of your family's data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have regarding your data when you use the FamSynq mobile application and associated services.
1. Who We Are
FamSynq is operated by Adrian Budileanu. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at support@famsynq.app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information — email address and display name when you register as a parent or caregiver.

2.2 Information collected automatically

- Crash reports — device type, OS version, and stack traces via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.
- Authentication tokens — managed by Firebase Authentication. We do not store passwords.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted in the United States with Google Cloud infrastructure. Google maintains SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other security certifications. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
We apply Firestore Security Rules so that each family's data is only accessible to authenticated members of that family. Children's data is further restricted so only their parent's account can modify sensitive settings.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Functions) — Firebase Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — subscription management and in-app purchase validation — RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions.
- Google Calendar API (optional) — only accessed if you explicitly connect your Google Calendar. We request read/write access limited to calendars you select.
We do not sell your data to any third party.
6. Children's Privacy
FamSynq is designed for use by families, including children. Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent or caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent. Children's profiles are stored under the parent's family account and are subject to the same protections as all family data.
If you are a parent and believe your child's data has been collected without your consent, please contact us at support@famsynq.app and we will delete it promptly.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your family account through the app, all associated family data (events, routines, profiles, completions, AAC messages) is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained in aggregated form.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about your family.
- Correction — update inaccurate data directly in the app or by contacting us.
- Deletion — delete your family account and all associated data via Settings → Account → Delete Family Account.
- Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Restriction / Objection — object to certain processing activities (e.g. analytics) by contacting us.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@famsynq.app. We will respond within 30 days.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and share, to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact support@famsynq.app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
